I have always loved snakes but my parents never would let me get one. So 5 months ago I decided to bring home a BP. Then a boa, then another boa, then another BP and 4 more on order...ahhhhh!!!

We've done this before, but it might be kinda hard to find the thread.

My answer is different than what I gave for snakes though.

When I was little my dad would find turtles and bring them home. They'd stay with us for a while and we would periodically let them go.

I'd read books on them and stuff but I didn't seriously try to keep them until I bought a ball python...many years later. When I was a kid good herp books were hard to find, and the internet didn't exist.

I love all animals. Pretty much any animal you can think of, I asked for one as a pet growing up. I knew eventually I'd get a herp or two.

When I was a child I remember finding box turtles in the road a few times and keeping them for a few years then we let them go back in the wild. I've always liked turtles, but since have yet to own another one. Maybe one day I'll own another one.

Also for snakes, I'll admit I wasn't a big fan of them from the time I was little to the age of 21. Then again I didn't really know much about them. When I was 21 I found a loose toad in a parking lot hopping around on a very very hot day and I took him home. I had him for about 2 weeks then I knew he was in good enough heath to be released. I released him and a few days later I missed the little guy. So I went out and got a toad from a pet store. A few days later she died and I was pretty upset. A friend of mine then got a baby snow corn snake and that is all she wrote! After handling her corn snake that was it. I loved snakes, so I went out and bought Jinx... and well my snake family has grown him there
