Re: modified humidifiers?
how big of a tank are we talking here and how big of a snake? too big of an enclosure can stress a BP out and they may not eat or get real defensive. Have you ever tried putting a UTH under the tile? I am sure they heat up nicely. If still no luck, I read once about a guy who modified a humidifier to keep uo humidity in his enclosure, but don't remember where.

Re: modified humidifiers?
I have a really tall enclosure (18"), and I built the DIY humidifier. It was not powerfull enough even with a 60gal air pump.
However, by accident I found a solution that really works.
Attach a small air stone to a long length of hose and use a small quiet air pump (10 gal is good enough). Then put the air stone right in the water bowl. I got my humidity up to 87% in three minutes. I have an inline flow adjuster so that I can regulate how much air gets to the stone. I have been able to get the humidity down to a regular value 56% or raise it during a shed.
