Wow, they really do get angry when in shed...
I had heard that ball pythons may get angry if you go near them during the shedding process and I experienced it first hand the other day. I lifted up the hide in my tank to check if my BP had shed yet and it started hissing very loud at me so I let down the hide. My snake is extremely calm so I wasn't expecting that but I now know that they really don't want to be bothered. :2cent:

that never happen to me I take them out when there in shed to make sure their ok and sometimes soak them a littel bit to help dry them off they go back in their cages and in about a week they shed fine for me maybe they go throu a mod swing?

every ball is different and sometimes they have PMS and other times they don't :P

my red tail that I sold she was very nice and struk at any thing that move near her she ate fine and sheded a few times that i had her it was wierd

I'm sure the shedding process isn't terribly comfortable for a snake and with their sight likely compromised a bit (not that they are big sight hunters but still), well it just makes sense that they'd rather hide until the whole deal is over with and not be bothered by us.
