    what's the difference between an axanthic and a red axanthic?

    Axanthic is recessive and het red axanthic is co-dom. I know theres more to it but thats what I know.

    the red axanthics seem brighter to me, imo there's more of a contrast

    Axanthics are recessive (think similar genetics to an Albino) and Het. Red Axanthics are Co-Dominant (think similar to a Pastel). The Het. Red Axanthic is equivalent to a Pastel and the Red Axanthic is equivalent to a Super Pastel.

    When Red Axanthics hatch, they are silver, black and white (like Axanthics), but have a strange pattern. There is usually a black back, with a thin silver stripe in it and the side "alien heads" look like bullseyes. As a Red Axanthic grows the silver turns to tan and the black turns to burgundy.

    Het. Reds are very different as adults than when they hatch.
