    reptile expo
    Hi everyone-

I finally have my setup ready, now I have to find a BP to occupy it. The ranco thermostat I got works great!
I was thinking of going to a reptile expo in Nov. and hopefully finding one there. The website is www.texasreptiles.com. Just looking for some input- is this even a good idea? Anything I should look for or look out for? This will be my first snake, and no plans on doing any breeding at this time.
    Thanks for any help!:D

The best place to get a new ball is at a reptile expo. mainly cause you know the complete history of it. it's all up to you on what morph....if any....that you want to get. good luck and most of all have fun.

There are good guys and and bad guys at any show. The trick is telling them apart, because often you can't at first glance. Often times, vendors at shows sell many captive hatched, imported ball pythons which can be troublesome for new keepers. Given that, I'd disagree that a show is the "best" place to get a new ball.

ok that is true...but would you still have him go to petco or petsmart to get one?

ok so you will have to ask the vendors where they get them or breed them.

Good point! ;) Although I didn't think that petco (petsmart doesn't sell snakes in most stores) was an option though, by reading the original post...

I will be there in Arlington on Sunday. If you want to meet up...I can help you pick out a BP. I have spoken with some of the vendors at past shows and maybe able to assist you....
