Moved into new tubs, hide question.
So I moved my two kids into their new tubs finally and I think they're happy with it. One thing I did notice is that my female is no longer using her hide but she is moving it around wherever she pleases. I guess she didn't like my interior design; my male is somewhat using/wearing his hide like a hermit crab. Are these signs of needing bigger hides? They were using them just fine in the glass vivs. I'm guessing my female might be feeling more secure, but they're both around the 1000g mark and using the mid sized black hides. I was going to buy the larger size but it seemed so much larger. There is ample foliage to take up the floor space.
1 week acclimation should be ok right?
Also I'm using 4 medium binder clips per corner to keep the tub lid secure, does anyone have anything better to use or is this good.
Thanks Everyone.

If you ever have a problem with the binder clips, you could also drill a couple holes in the edge of the lid and the lip of the tub where they make contact, and secure it with twist ties.

here's my setup. i'm still tweaking the temp to raise the cool side a few degrees.
the small hides are very tight and sometimes he goes in there but sometimes i guess he needs some more space and he'll go in the bigger ones.

Re: Moved into new tubs, hide question.
You might think about adding some crumpled newspaper to take up some of those empty spaces.
Re: Moved into new tubs, hide question.
yeah i might do that. i don't read the paper though (i'm a nerd so i get my news online) would paper towels work?
Re: Moved into new tubs, hide question.
They would work, just make sure when you are feeding, your snakes never accidentally eat some paper towel.
