I don't think it would be something like a personal hatred towards you. Much like their inability to love (this is just my opinion), they also have an inability to hate. I would first make sure all his husbandry issues are ok. How often was he checked on while you were gone? When was the last time he was fed?

Just be patient! Nothing ever happens fast with BP's. Their world runs in serious "Slo-Mo" compared to ours.

Was your snake housed at somebody else's place for awhile? If so, or if any similar move was involved in your return and getting your snake back.....then you should give him a new acclimation period...a full week (at least) to settle in and get used to its new place. Even if its in the same enclosure....a new house...or even a new room in the house...will have different shadows, different movements, different smells, different vibrations, even different temps and airflow that may make a BP nervous until they get used to it.

Even if everything has been exactly the same from when you left til your return....give him time to get used to your scent and presence again. Don't mess with him for awhile, other than to change water and clean up. Then start slow, brief handling sessions...just as you would with a new BP.

They're not like dogs that may make a lifetime imprint on an owner.

3 weeks doesn't seem excessively long in a BP's life. Double check all the husbandry issues...make sure the proper temps are steady and not fluctuating a lot at night. And see what happens after you've fed him a time or two. We humans can be awfully impatient at times...but I'm sure given enough time and patience, everything will be back to normal with your snake.

A couple of days is nothing really to a snake. It may be in a pissy mood just because it feels like it and fine again tomorrow or it may just not recognize your scent right away (or it's just being a snake and feels like giving you some grief LOL). I'd just go about your normal routine with it, be calm and don't push handling too much, maybe just a bit of stroking while you do husbandry or something like that. I'm sure it'll be fine. Snakes can't think enough to hate you or be mad you went away for a few weeks. Sounds like it was cared for properly.
