Mon Cher! Everyone else has been sucking that tongue in when I try to get pics, yay Gomez for tongue shots! He's gotten so big and chunky!

Post shed, I got lots of pics of her highness Miss Ma-tsu!

    http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...s/IMG_0475.jpg

While Ma-tsu was out cruising, Neptune took notice! I know she's sexy, hang in there Neptune, not quite breeding season yet! lol!

And then I got really silly and did a little photo shoot of Ma-tsu and myself, even though I was in my poop patrol grubbies, heh! But I'll show them to you guys anyway. :P Isn't Ma-tsu's tail awesome?

Nice shots, especially of the charina! He is a pretty brown, most of our local boas are much more green...I like it!! Do you know the locality? Where did you get him, and how old is he? Sorry for all the questions, I just love rubber boas, and with good reason. One of my good herp buddies is Ryan Hoyer, son of charina guru Richard F. Hoyer, so I get a lot of info on these guys whenever we get together ;). Thanks for sharing the pics! :D

Awesome pictures, Sheree! I swear, Ma-tsu is the cuddliest snake I've ever met...she's so amazing! And Gomez is turning into quite the little chunky monkey! Must be quite a change to go from holding him and Ma-tsu to holding the wee little worm! :P ;)

And yes, big difference going between chunky mellow Gomez to hyper curious cuddly Ma-tsu to shy little bitty Irwin! That poor little guy... I woke him out of a dead sleep the other day to clean his tub. He was out cold, so when I went to pick him up he gave a start and the tiniest hiss I've ever heard! Awwh!

Thanks, Evan! I'm familiar with the Hoyer site, I went over it thoroughly before getting little Irwin! That rocks that you know him! Our little guy was born March of this year and I got him from SMR. Don told me that his line always starts out khaki/brown and turns a dark green as they get older, so I'm curious to see the transition! He's calmed down fast too, the first few times I picked him up he everted at me but then he settles down and cuddles my fingers. Sweet little dude.

Little Irwin seems so fragile at this size that Karen wants to wait till he's bigger to handle him, lol. Doesn't want to squish him. Largely because he doesn't have much of a grip too and constantly threatens to fall off!

Yeah, Ryan was my rodent supplier for while until my collection got too big to keep both of our animals fed https://ball-pythons.net/forums/imag...es/biggrin.gif He's an awesome and very intelligent guy, and he has a knack at finding wild rubbers almost anywhere! Hopefully your little guy will live as long as the RAAB female #1. She is still alive and kicking, but really does have a geriatric look to her. I don't currently have any charina, but would like to get a pair sometime. I would have to apply for a COR from the Division of Wildlife Resources if I ever wanted to breed them though. Yeah, not to collect them, but to breed them...crazy Utah regulations...

Be sure to post more pics as he ages!!! https://ball-pythons.net/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif

I hope my guy'll live as long as that girl too! Look at her go! :D Little Irwin is pretty easy to photograph and I'll be definitely updating as he grows!

Ryan sounds like a great guy! We don't plan on breeding our boy, which is for the best as we plan on moving to Oregon, and selling native wildlife is a no-no there from what I understand. Can keep em! Just not sell em. I'll be up to my ears in beauty snakes anyhow, so it's all good. ;) You so need at least one though, they're fun little guys! Such a cute little worm!

What species of snake is Irwin? Also, Mat-Su's patterns is crazy. It's sorta like 6 different snake patterns into one snake.

Irwin is a rubber boa, Charina bottae. Our very first boa! ;)

And beauty snakes, as well as a few other Asian rats are awesome like that. The patterns change all the way down, it's part of why I fell in love! It also makes them harder to interpret artistically, but I'm working on it!
