you see how the black lines the belly scales thats what people call the het pied marker. I don't know I have seen normals with it and this is my het pied and he has it. So I'd say buy from a well know breeder and get what you pay for.

That pic is one I swiped from Daniel when I got him. Hope he doesn't mind me using it.

Just goes to show that so called markers don't mean squat. I've seen normals with a more exaggerated belly pattern than that in that picture above.

I have seen a few 100% hets that do just look "different" which is difficult to put into words. Maybe its all psychological?

The "pied marker" traits are not consistent. I have seen 100% het pieds without it and normals with it.

I would say to buy from a reputable breeder and you will know they are hets.;)

Yep - I have a normal from our first clutch who has a pretty belly like that:

See that normal has a more pronounced black line than my het and its just a normal

Het Markers seem to be nothing but a myth.... it has yet to be proven to be consistant...

With that being said, I have a female who is just a normal, who has a pretty belly like Matt's (Smulkin) baby bp.

    Re: Het pied Markers
Het. pied markers mean absolutly nothing, that terminology was used mostly to sell possible het. hatchlings.

Buy hets. only from someone you can trust! :)
