    Number of conjucal visits
I an planning to breed my girls next season (they will be 5 by then). They are big enough now, but I don't think I could find an eligible bachelor in time. My question is, after they successfully do the deed, is once enough, or do you reintroduce them? I can't get a clear picture of how often per season they are together. I hope this makes sense. Thanks.

i believe most breeders will cycle their males through their females every coupla days, meaning they will put the male in for 2 days, take him out and let him rest for 2 days, on to the next female for 2 days, rest for 2 days, etc. etc....most breeders will put one male per 5 females...and they keep cycling until the male and female stop locking up and lose interest in each other...I can't speak from personal experience, but that's what I've read and that's what I'll find out this season :)

PS, it's not too late to find a breeder male this season. Just surf the classifieds here, on KS, and Fauna and i promise you'll find a sire

What i do is i place my male with one female for 3 days, then he goes into his enclosure and i offer him food.He stays in his enclosure for 3 days whether or not he ate, then i place him with a second female for 3 days. Then he goes into his enclosure for 3 days.I continue this process until every female shows no interest in him and he shows them the same.Just for the record i do not cool any of my snakes and have had 2 succesfull seasons the last 2yrs.

Thanks. I might still try. While I have successfully raised these two from hatchlings to 1800 grams (and they are beautiful, if I do say so myself), I still have a few things to learn. But I have the space and resources to step it up, so I want to give it a try.

    P.S.
I am from Clearwater, but now live in Raleigh NC.

Well what you could do is find a adult normal male and breed them this year. This way you will have the experiance of the breeding, eggs being laid and hatching and will not lose a ton of money if something goes wrong. This is what i did exactly my first year, now i have my male pastel starting with two normal females :D .
