My Columbian

I just moved 2 weeks ago into my new home and I brought my coumbian and bp with me (of course). She used to be in a very tiny 30 gallon aquarium at my old house while my dad was building her her new home (4'x2.5'x2.5'). My question is is that she used to be out constantly in the smaller aquarium and now that she is in the larger one she NEVER comes out. Even after leaving her alone to check it out for a week she still doesn't come out. After I handle her I put her back in on the opposite side of her hide and she bolts right back to her hide. Almost like she is scared to be in such a big space. Is this normal? Do the columbians usually take longer to adapt to huge changes (new house and aquarium)? When I first bought her and put her in the smaller aquarium she didn't take long at all to accustom herself to her surroundings. Opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Title says colombian and I think I remember her post about a 4x2.5x2.5 cage a few weeks ago for a BCI.

We need some more info please. Even at 6', my female in a 4' by 2' cage would rather hide than be out in the open when she first goes back in her cage. When I walk in the room though, she comes out and starts pushing on the front trying to get out. I actually don't use any hides for my 2 boas anymore and the continue to eat every week even in full blue. As long as its not like a 2' boa in a 4' cage, you should be fine. I would still use hides for younger boas in bigger cages no matter what

She has just passed the 4 foot mark so I didn't think the cage was too large. It's just wierd because in the smaller aquarium she hardly ever used he hide. And yes, she probably doesn't even need one but I like to leave her that option. Should I maybe take the hide out for a while and kind of 'force' her to get used to the space?

Just a shot in the dark here, but maybe you could put a divider in the cage to make it smaller, then gradually increase the size of her living area by moving the divider farther down the other side of the cage.
