That was fascinating, Sheree. I bookmarked it to show to my 13 year old daughter. The girl was pretty to start with....and very beautiful all made up with her hair done...and yet, they still felt the need to alter her appearance because it wasn't "good enough." So sad that so many girls (myself included) grow up thinking that kind of flawless beauty is something ANYone can attain, much less something one must have to be valued.

This is actually the norm for advertising and magazines, and it's important that especially young girls know this! Here's the official site, I think it could do a lot of good!

It's actually important for young men as well. Don't worry, there's nothing embarrassing about it, and it's only a minute long. Very eye-opening.

    OK maybe later....lol...

EDIT: I have seen it before.....yes it is really really good for girls to see ...I know alot of girls who look up to these altered pictures and dont know it...I have to tell them that most of them are altered. Tell them they are beautiful just the way they are and it really makes them feel good.;) :devilish:

Yes, it is very important for males to see as well. It's pathetic how many people (male and female) look and expect to find these perfect mates and how many people strive to be perfect when there is no such thing.

Reminds of me an article I was reading recently about a particular female model who's given up on being a size 2 and now works successfully as a "plus size" model...

    And she's a size 12.

How the heck is that "plus size"?! Freakin' Marilyn Monroe was a size 14...

Dress sizes back then were 4-6 sizes smaller than today...The way clothes are "sized" is not standard or scientific and has changed greatly through the years.
