here are some pics of my roach coloney. if you have bearded dragons or monitors. these are the best. one or two is all it takes to fill up a adult beardie for two days. and my monitors go nuts for them. they eat fruit. and need to be kept at 90degs. verry easy to keep.

Very cool. If they bred and matured faster I would have gotten some at the expo but I don't have that kind of time to keep them. Keep us updated on them please, Sounds like a fun project

they do take a whial to grow. but wiht that in mind i ordered 100 mixed adults so that by the time they did produce i would be able to start feeding. i read they take about 6 months to reach adult hood.

And if they escape???? :devilish:

    *shudders* :bleh:!!! Ewwwwwww

I'd MUCH rather have an escapee SNAKE any day.

But Matt, I'll keep that in mind, b/c we're looking at maybe getting a beardie to add to the herper family.....that or a leo gecko.... I haven't decided which one yet. :rolleye2: :rolleye2:

i use lobster roaches. i love them. they grow and mature super fast, plus, they breed like crazy. almost all the females in the tub look like they have eggsacs ready. i just know the colony is gonna explode in a week or so, lol.

    cool roaches.

    cool roaches.

Sounds exciting. I just don't like that they climb. I would have a problem doing the vasoline on all the cages so I will never use them. Rock on with them though man!!

climbing is not even an issue. trust me. order from Clay Davenport anf for an extra 10 dollars he'll give you bug boundary (=a total of 30 dollars for 100 roaches and an oz of this stuff). the stuff rocks and the roaches are the best, although i think when my ackie becomes adult size im gonna get a colony of blaptica dubia and sell my roaches or get rid of them some how.

I was looking at clay's site but I never got around to ordering from him. I breed Blatta Lateralis(sp?) for my leos and sav and they work great. Some say they are faster than lobster roaches but a bit smaller is the down side
