think I may be taking the plunge
After I get my het albinos in, I think I will be going to tubs. As it stands, I have 4 tanks on top of furniture in my room and soon to have to add 2 more enclosures and whenever my large BCI comes home, that is just a huge 4x2x2 tank that gets thrown into the mix. So...I decided I will build a rack. I think I want to do with with Sterilite 1960's for any larger BP that I may acquire and do one with with maybe 1756's(23.5x16.25x6 3/8). Flexwatt 11" flex watt on one side of the 1960's and would 3" work on the 1756's? Both racks hooked up to it's own Johnson thermostat

Re: think I may be taking the plunge
You may have already considered this... I have a rack that uses the Sterilite 1756 tubs. It also holds 1754s. A single shelf can hold either 2 1754s side by side, or a single 1756 placed in sideways. Makes for a very versatile rack!

As for heating, I would probably stick with 3" for all of them. I have a homebuilt 1960 rack that uses 3" flexwatt on the floor at the back (tubs go in lengthwise), and it works great. My hatchling racks also use 3" flexwatt. My 1754/1756 rack uses heat cable, and is not nearly as stable. My 3" flexwatt racks hold the temp within +/- 1/2 degree, while the heat cable rack fluctuates +/- several degrees. All of my racks are on proportional thermostats.
