    New tank project..
Since we are getting those gouramis/tetras I mentioned in another post, I set up a tank for them. Keep in mind, it is not anything special to look at yet! My friend has rows and rows of crystal clear, awesomely themed tanks at her store; they inspired me to get a good old fashioned 10-gallon tank. With all the other tanks, there's nowhere to go but "down" (in size) I guess.. here it is. I used gravel from my 55g GF tank and a slightly used, already established cartridge and Whisper filter off of the same tank (it was overfiltered w/ 4 filters.) So how about cycling? Should I start off putting 1-2 fish in and then adding the small tetras slowly (they're neons.) I did put a small goldfish in there for now to keep things cycling; I should be getting the other fish tomorrow and the GF will go back to his tank. Or could I just forego cycling and add fish, as the filter and gravel are already bioactive...
I do need a heater; the one I have is too long. Would it be unsafe if the glass of the heater touches the bottom of the tank; it does, but if that's OK, I could use this one.
