Learn how to Sex a Snake

I was shown a while ago how to probe a snake by someone with experience, but I don't wanna hurt my snakes. I don't know how to practice this! I would also like to know how to pop... How did you go about learning to do this? How did you practice safely???

when is the snake too old to "pop"?

Someone who is experienced with popping can pop any age. Key word - experienced! ;)

As bps age they gain a lot more muscle control of the anal spurs, and can "fight back" when you try to pop them. As Robin stated, someone that does it regularly can do it, but it's not as easy as a hatchling :).

I'm not sure of the age but my bp is 4 1/2 long is it to old to probe? I believe it's a female do to the tail being short and well tapered from the body, but i would love to know for sure to possibly breed her.( try to breed) or have some do it.:)

I usually just tell it a bunch of lies, get'er drunk, tell her that she's the most important thing to me and there ya go. I sex'd my snake. ... But she never told me she had mites! :( ... I guess what goes around comes around :D
