    I was just wondering if anyone has concidered breeding these as feeders? I don't know much about them, but I believe they are desert critters from the looks of them??? Like a large gerbil??? =ing less smell? Just a thought/question! THANKS! L :sunny:

    Degue's are a dessert mouse cross, they breed about the same as Gerbils but require alot of room and a special diat so they don't become Diabetic. For the trouble and the size I'd stick to husky rats.

    Not to mention the excesive time it takes for a degu to mature vs. mice or rats. I would rather have rats breeding at 4-5 months of age vs. the 6-9 for degu.
    The gestation is also said to be about 3 months and only 4-5 babies in a litter!
