What do you use for bedding
Most of the posts here i see mention aspen or pine (as long as its dust free). In the tubs at school they use corncob bedding. What do most of you use, and what are the pros/cons of the choices (i tried searching but couldnt really find anything).

I use aspen because it is cheap and readily available for me. I can't find any other bedding in my area that is available is quantities as large as the Aspen is. I am currently using it in my 2 mice tanks and 1 rat tank as well as in my small BCI's tank and my BP tank

at home i use aspen . at the petshop i work at we use aspen for our breeders and corncob for our feeders . the corncob doesnt seem to control odor quite as well as the aspen does .
Re: What do you use for bedding
Thanks. We're really trying to keep the odor down because where they will be set up, so looks like aspen it is.

What type of animal is this for? I have seen quite a few people who basically stir their aspen up or add some more everyday to keep smell down.
Re: What do you use for bedding
I have my rats/mice on corn cob but it does stink with the mice..not so much with the rats though. Once I have finished this bag I'm putting them all on aspen like the snakes, the aspen I have is this nice confetti kind of texture, it doesnt "fluff" as much as the shredds but we like it.
Re: What do you use for bedding
I'm phasing out pine and going to aspen for my rodents. I already keep the aspen on hand so it only makes sense not to have to store different stuff. Even the "low dust" pine can get dusty...I don't think there is such a thing as "dust free" pine. Aspen is the good stuff!

I'm also useing aspen it's good , I tried that carefree stuff I didn't like it the smell was worse with that stuff
Re: What do you use for bedding
Its for a colony of breeder mice.
