    S-lite Vs R-maid
No, this title isn't about a war of new gangster rappers; it is about sterilite versus rubbermaid containers.
seems to me, the s-lites are smoother and don't have handles; but the r-mands seem thicker and more durable. Any advice towards either type would be appreciated!!

IMO you should probably go with Sterilite, as Rubbermaid is always changing their box designs and if you ever need another tub in a couple years, it may not be available any more.

Don't forget to consider Iris tubs as well. I don't have them, but have heard wonderful things about them. (some help I am right? lol)

hey jen, if you are going to build your own racks, you might want to look into iris tubs? they are completely smooth on the inside and durable. you can find them at officemax and www.reptiletubs.com

sterilites are at alot of walmarts and targets!

I wish I could find any place in Toledo, OH that actually sells Iris. Other than ordering them from Eric Erb and paying shipping I'm running out of options. I'd personally rather go with Iris for our new racks but may have to go either Sterlite or Rubbermaid to save on shipping costs. :(

Rubbermaid is overpriced and is always changing models. Sterilites are cheap and for a reason. They are crap. Iris the king of plastic tubs. Durable and easy to clean snake crap off of. They are slightly more expensive though. You can get Iris tubs at www.thecontainerstore.com , occasionally at BBB and everyday from Eric at www.reptiletubs.com. He is a great guy! (and according to at least one bp.netter's chick, sexy as hell)

They are easier to clean because they don't have those ridges and bumps that are found in sterlites.

Not just that. They are coated in a super special magic shell that makes them stain/gunk resistant and chocolatey good!

You know; I do have one "soaker" tub that I've been using in treating my snakes for mites.. it is an Iris! I like the way it's built; I think I know what to go with now. I like the smoothness and no-handle/ridgie factor :)

Iris all the way baby!!! Smooth inside, very sturdy, and the perfect size. Office Depot doesn't carry them in the stores, but they do have them in thier warehouses. Order online and any order over $50 is free next day shipping. They're a little more expensive, but well worth the extra money. :D
