    question for you guys
not sure if anyone will be able to shed any light on what happened but i thoubght i would ask anyway...

i had 6 month old rtb for about 3 months.. she was extremely sweet, loved to be out and about, ate and pooped EVERY week no problems...

so one night i looked over to her cage and she had her head turned completely towards her body and was coiling over and over... she did this for about 15 minutes, it looked very stressed and painful... once she stopped she just kinda sat on the bottom of her enclosure... it was almost modnight so far too late for a vet trip... by the morning she looked like she had had another fit of coiling and had passed away... anyone have any idea what may have killed my baby?? its been quite a while now but its one of those unanswered questions that bothers me...

sorry to hear about this.:( if you still have the animal you could take it to the vet for a necropsy and maybe that will clear things up a little as to why he died.

Were you using any type of pest strip to treat mites or anything?? They have been known to cause neurologicproblems, such as stargazing which is bad, and worse case scenerio death, as well as seizures.

nope she never had any mites or anything ... it was a very odd thing that happened... i wouldnt have been so surprised if she had acted sick or oddly .. but i had her out the night before and she was her same little snakey self...
dunno.. i miss her but im glad she got to come live with me for the 3 months i had her, she was a great little girl!

Don't get discouraged, there are lots of people on here that know more than me, so maybe they'll chime in soon!

I have no idea what killed your boa, but I will say she looks thin in your photo.
