If you do a search on the forums you will come up with many threads on the subject. A lot of people build their own incubator.. some people use the hovabator which is made for chicken eggs (limited success is had with snake eggs depending on the species) and there are more expensive pre made ones like the Nature's Spirit incubator: http://www.nsreptiles.com/

gosh those are nice...but for that price i'd rather go buy a brand new wine cooler for almost half that price and convert it to an incubator. There's also Craigslist too.

I'm looking to make my own incubator...i think it will be much more cheaper :)

Shelby,i have used hovabators two seasons in a row and had zero problems and a 100% hatch ratio as long as the eggs were good in the first place. This success was with corn snake and ball python eggs. Now it can not hold burmese python eggs to well lol.Is this where you state the limited success? Not trying to be rude here just wondering.:)

I have never used a hovabator, I had just read someone else's experiences with them.. that they weren't accurate enough with temps/humidity for the eggs.

But.. I guess they can work just fine!

I've read about issues regarding the reliability of the heating elements and wafer style thermostats, however alot of people have used them succesfully. I guess Joe can attest to that. :)

Nature's Spirit Reptiles incubators are high quality. Sure you can go cheaper and build your own (I may myself). However the NS units have been engineered and tested as have many other units so there is much less guess work than a home made setup. I saw Casey this last Sunday and he had one of his incubators on display that I checked out...they are very nice units.
