    feeding question
if the mouse i give my boy is too big will he hurt himself trying to eat it or just not eat it?
I just fed Imriel and i gave him a small mouse out of the same bag of frozen mice as last week... it seemed to take him forever to eat it and it seemed like it was hard for him to get it down.. he did finally swallow it.. i was just worried that it was too big and might hurt him.. he didnt have this much trouble getting it down last week, i didnt figure the size of the mice in the bag would differ too much.

As long as the mouse is as thick as the thickest part of your snake you should be fine. Anything larger and you could risk regurge or some fasting.

it looked like it wasnt any bigger than his thickest part.. but his head and neck seem SO much thinner than the thickest part of his body .. looks scary when he ate it.

i think im just being a worrier, but i hate to think something isnt right. He finished eating it and went into his hide... im hoping no regurge occurs cause eewwwww .

If you don't see a hideous bulge, after he got it down, you're most likely fine.

It's just freaky to see any snake eat, if you're not used to it. Especially a thick-bodied snake with a relatively small head and thin neck like a BP. It never looks easy or comfortable...but it's how they were made. ;) You'll get used to it.

he is all hiding .. so i have no idea how bulgy he is... but he is pulled into his hide pretty tight which i doubt he could do if he was too very full of mouse... ?

Ya i kinda figured as much... and the first few times i fed him i fed him mouse fuzzies that were way too small so they didnt even make a dent in him and he had them swallowed in a second... the last small mouse i gave him didnt seem to be as much trouble but i think you are right.. he is good at stretching, its what he is made to do.. im just a worrying kinda snake mom.. lol

    thank you
