    Did you pull the ticks, or did you take him to the vet? The reason I ask is that if he had ticks, I would be concerned about any internal critters he might be hosting. I bought a normal female this past spring that had mites. Then she defecated, and had worms. When I took her to the vet to get rid of the worms, the vet found a tick. I'm not saying these things always go together, just that if there is one of them, there was a husbandry issue (at best) where he came from, and the possibility exists for other parasites also. I'm now convinced that my girl was wild caught.

    If you haven't had him to a vet, I would strongly suggest taking a fecal sample to your vet for examination at the very least.
