    Another High Humidity Question....Help
I bought this rack and moved my 3 Ball Pythons into it, from my home made sterlite tubs. My BP are about 600-400 grams. They seem to have adjusted well to the rack! This rack has flexwatt backheat and I can maintain a consistent 90/80 degress back/front. I had to drill 12 5/32" holes on each side and 10 5/32" holes on the front and back. Total of 44 holes. However, My humidity consistently ranges 75-77%. This new rack is enclosed on 5 of 6 sides.

    Do I need more holes?
    Bigger Holes?
Do I need to put a dehumidifyer in the room?

    Thoughts or suggestions welcome!

Try drilling either more holes, or bigger holes; it is your call. What type of substrate do you use?

newspaper...I also have large water bowls...because my snakes love to soak. I know that does not help....but they really like the big bowls. I keep the bowls on the cool side.

I hear paper towels suck for moisture. Maybe try that? Do you use big bowls because that is all they will get into or because you want a big bowl in there? Try a bowl just big enough for it to fit in instead of a bowl with tons of extra space.

i haven't really noticed ball pythons "loving to soak" anacondas yes, balls no.

i use bowls about the size of a cereal bowl, they take a little sip and go back into their hides. if their soaking chances are they are also spilling water, that is probably where the high humidity is coming from.

I think the 300 gram snakes bowl is a perfect fit. The 600 gram one bowl maybe slightly to big...but not much.

I am slightly concerned that too many holes or too big may fix my humidity problem, but then may cause a problem maintaining temps on the cool side.

I can try paper towels next time!

Well I increased the size of all 42 holes to 3/16". I am not sure if putting a lid on the water bowl will help or not.:confuse:

of course...come winter I am sure I will have the opposite problem!
