    Childs Python?
Has anybody ever heard of a "Childs Python"? I saw it at the pet store today while I was picking up bird, cat & snake food on my lunch break. It was like, 8 inches long (hard to tell though, it was coiled but definatley tiny)and super skinny.

Pretty sure that's what you must mean - little fellas.

I'm going to take the liberty of moving this to the General Python forum (there are some recent threads with pictures right at the top there).

Yep. I own one. He's a great snake. Always calm and cool while handling. When it's feeding time, he goes into berzerk mode. They are the second smallest python. The smallest is the ant hill python.

I have its close relative, the spotted python (third smallest). Anyway, they call it a children's python because it is safe for young children to take care of. Jokes aside, it is named after its founder, John Children ;) .

They had it listed as a childs python, but that doesnt mean much - they arnt the smartest group at that preticular store. I asked an employe about the snake, and he had no clue.
Thanks for the info though everybody.

Here is my adult breeder red phase "children's python" and a baby red and baby normal.:D

Awesome snakes. A bit nippy as babies and somewhat tough to start feeding but once they are established, they are pigs and grow into really docile but active snakes.

I hear people say theirs is nippy. Mine has never tried to bite me ever. Maybe I got lucky :D Still, a very cool snake.
