I just found out, I am so sad....
I am very sad, I just found out that the only species snakes that are legal in Puerto Rico, are the Ball Phyton and the Garter Snake. I was so in love with all the pictures of Corn Snakes you guys post that I wanted one. But I went to the local Natural Resources Department web page and it seems I can't inport them, or at least they are not mentioned.:heartbrea
Re: I just found out, I am so sad....
I'm not really surprised. Small island nations/states need to be pretty careful about what sorts of exotic animals they allow to be imported. From what I understand, Hawaii doesn't allow ANY snakes at all...at least not for the average keeper like us.

You don't want a situation like the brown tree snake or cane toads to happen there.
But just think ball pythons come in alot of designer color morphs like corns do. Hawaii is still trying to control the brown tree snake, and save whatever bird species they still can!

They aren't really banned :banned1: , the law just doesn't mention them. I went to a classified ads webpage and some people do have them for sale, as well as Green Trees, Red Tails, Kingsnakes, and some others... But for example; the starting price for a Corn Snake in that webpage is $50.

Depending on the quality of the snakes thats a average price for corn snakes. If there are people selling them and nothing mentions them then they might be allowed. Is there some way of contacting the wildlife people and ask them directly wether or not corns are allowed?

I'll be doing that, I bet they have a more detailed list of legal animals, and maybe there some exception to the rule and someday I might be showing pictures of my new Corn Snake.
