The best thread in all the land!!
OK nathair has been here for about a month and i was looking at him for like almost a month before i got him and he still hasen't shed. I think if any he only shed once before. He is about three and a half months old. His belly went pink about two weeks ago and still nothing. Is there something wrong with him?????????
BTW i lied this tread kinda stinks, LOLOLOLOL
Re: The best thread in all the land!!
If his belly went pink you should be having a shed anytime soon. Just check and make sure it's not the beginnings of a burn. ;)
Don't worry about shedding too much. The timing just varies. Normally I notice the blue eyes a couple of days after the pink belly, but it can vary with the individual. It'll happen. :D

Ball pythons should not soak if provide the proper environment. What are your temperatures and how are you heating?

Two weeks after pink seems a bit long for a shed for such a young ball python. Has his belly been pink for 2 weeks straight or has it turned clear? How are you heating the enclosure and what is your humidity like?

Well he start soaking when I had him in the tank with poor humidity (so hard to keep it up!). He has been in his new tub for only about 2 days (60-70% hum, because of shed). He is still soaking. But right before I put him in I fed him an adult mouse... so he could be soaking to relieve the pressure correct? using a UTH.

I don't know if it's normal or not But my older male soaks at least once a week. Ive had him over 1 1/2 years. The 3 other ones won't go near their water unless they want a drink. I think they all are different.

How are you controlling the heat on the UTH? And where/how are you measuring the actual temprature it is putting out?

Have you measured the temps on the floor directly over the UTH?
