confused on feeding

monty my bp is 8 months old and is eating 2 fuzzies a week or if the store dosent have fuzzies i get him 3 pinkies and he eats all three is this ok or should i go with something bigger like a pinkie rat hes about 2'3" now

2'3'' or 23''? either way i think you can move him up, since most hatchling bps can eat pinkey rats right off the bat.

What does everyone else think?

2 foot 3 inches is how long he is if i had a decent pic of him i would post it but i dont since i dont have a digi cam after the accident i had with it long story short it fell into the ocean

I only asked because i was a bit confused about the size of your snake and the size of the food you were feeding him. yea you can move up, my male is about the same size as your's and he is eating 1 large mouse to 2 med sixed every 10 days or so

ok so i will try the rat pups and see what happens then and ill will deff try and get some pics this weekend with my friends digi cam when he gets home from his sisters house

Just remember don't feed anything bigger than the widest part of your snake's body and you should be okay

well then a medium sized rat pup should be fine than but hes got a small peanut head his body has gotten bigger but his head seems to stay the same size when i got him which is the size of his head in the pic on my avatar

That's a ball python for ya. They have wee little heads compared to the rest of their bodies. Don't let that fool ya. They can eat pretty big stuff. Not that that means they should eat huge prey items, but they certainly can if they have to.

I would definitely move up from mice pinks and fuzzies though. Those are more like snack-food for a snake with the munchies. :P Try fuzzy rats...one per week...same day every week. And you should have a "happy" consistently eating BP. ;)

thats the thing i tried doing and once a week on the same day but he seems not to eat on the same days its weird he goes and eats on thursday on week and then next week wont feed until friday even when i give him food on thursday of that following week
