Multiple Sire Question

If you breed a female to more than one co-dom traited sire is it possible for some of the eggs to show traits of both sires or however many are in question? Not sure how the fertilization process goes in snakes as of just yet. Anyone want to educate me?

Im going to take a wild guess and say no. I would think that after the 1st sire and female pair unlatch the female knows her eggs are fertilized and won't latch up with another male until after the egg laying... and hatching process.

1 sperm, 1 egg.

Multiple sires can each fertilize different eggs so you could get a mixed clutch ... but, most often the last one in gets the job done.

Similar to humans... one egg, one sperm. I suppose it's possible that you could get twins from differnent co-dom dads in the same egg, but you could never get the two sperm to "blend".

Alrighty thanks for clearing that up for me. Just one of those weird questions I thought of that I knew somebody here would have the answer for.

I don't believe its the last one that gets the job done. Sperm competion is very strong in many animals, including herps, that is actually what a sperm plug is. Its the first one that may get the job done. The plug not only may block future sperm from reaching the egg, but in many species there are killer sperm that seek and destroy foreign sperm.
