    temp of f/t rat?
I got this cool little temp gun now and I want to make sure that the rats are at an appropriate temp. The belly is nice and mushy so I know it's thawed...I read a good temp somewhere but cannot remember where.... :confuzd: thankee

after i let mine sit out for a while (an hour or three) i sometimes soak it in a ziplock and then place it in warm water (i use the temp gun there too!) I would say usually about 75-80 would be good maybe a little warmer. I never checked the temp of a live mouse, might have to do that to find out.

Normal temp on a live animals is around 96f (depends on where you take the temp). I shoot for around 85-90 on mine ... As our body temps are in that range the prey shouldnt feel hot or cold.
