Hello everyone! I'm new here and just adopted the most beautiful baby bp! He's my first snake, but not my first herp. I got him on Sat. and he's already eaten his first f/t fuzzie. Although it took some convincing. lol. Here's the thing, he/she still doesn't have a name! I am stumped. Anyone have any ideas?

Welcome to the group:cool: .I usually look for a name that fits the snake and sometimes it takes awhile lol.Watch him over the next couple days or so and see if their is anything he does or something about him in general. When i do this a name just pops in my head and its usually a good name.Have you read the care shhets here on the ball pythons? If not i recommend it as it has alot of usefull information. If you have any questions you just ask away.

Yeah I named my female Willow...because she likes climbing her drift wood (not a tree...but better then naming her drift wood lol) and I named the male Shilo, because he is really shy.

    Welcome to BP.net! :handshake:

As for names...it all depends on what YOU like. Some people choose character names from a favorite movie or book. Some like names from mythology that relate to snakes. I chose an English word that means a lot to me with regards to my snake, but would have made a silly name (Tomorrow) and then went looking for a nice looking translation in an African tongue. (Found a Zulu word...Kisasa.) And some people like to go with silly or ironic names like Fluffy, Fido, or Monty. If you can narrow it down to a method like these, it makes choosing a name a lot easier.

Here's what I've narrowed it down to:

    Gypsy - don't know why :-)
    Jigsaw - he's a little puzzle
Solo - only snake I own

Jigsaw is cute...and scary if you have seen Saw 1 and Saw 2.....

    Re: No name
Yeah, I think I'm going to go with Jigsaw. I didn't even think of the movie! I figure his name was a puzzle and since he's my first snake there will probally be some puzzling moments. lol I've taken care of snakes before, just never owned one.

    He has a name! :0)

My bps are named after High end Subwoofers then they are given a nic-name that fits them later down the road when I have all the time in the world watch them and get to know them.
