Re: How Many Wats for Ceramic Bulb ?
my bro uses a 50-60 watt infared light so it can stay on all day and night. You can also cover 2/3 of the lid with something like tinfoil to help keep in the heat and humidity!
Re: How Many Wats for Ceramic Bulb ?
I have a 100w ceramic bulb for my ambient temps. I have it on a thermostat set to 82. I use UTHs for ground temps. I am sure that I could crank this baby up to well over 95, but that would be dangerous to the herps.
That is why I suggest that any heat source is put on a thermostat.

Excellent advice.
To the OP - is the ceramic bulb your only heat source?

please use a thermostat on ceramic heat emitters! they get real hot!!!
the ambient temps in the room/area the tank is in matters also. cold room=more watts, covering the top will help prevent heat loss. sometimes wrapping part of a tank with foamboard will help.
