PetShop Ball's
I wanted to know, Ball Pythons that have been bought in a petshop are mostly male? I bought my normal adult Ball Python (3.5' then, 4'-0" now) in a petshop for $75.00. I seriously doubt that an adult female would cost that. :colbert:

Most pet stores don't know how to sex their snakes - I've picked up two adult female ball pythons that were surrendered to my local pet store. They just let me probe any surrendered animals to determine sex, and they know any that I don't take are males! LOL
However, they sell them all for the same price - they just want to move them out - the average pet store customer wants a cute baby, not an adult, so the adults just languish there. They price them lower than the babies to try to move them out.

I haven't sexed mine, so I don't know. Here, most Petshops sell their young BP for about $100.00 and adults for $125.00- $150.00 and I don't think they even know their sexes.

Re: PetShop Ball's
same here, atleast where i used to live. i picked up Aza when she was a little over 2 yrs old for about $100. she's been great, not a picky eater, hasn't refused once yet, and is very calm so i'm surprised that it worked out but yeah, the prices for babies at most pet shops i've seen are pretty high and normally for unsexed. forget pet shops but rabernet, it seems like it's working out for you lol nice!:)

Re: PetShop Ball's
:colbert: I don't think we have any breeders here, so every BP is imported.
Rats = $6.99
Mice = $2.99

Sounds like a perfect business opportunity. Start breeding and you have a corner on the market.
