what do you do in a situation like this?
today i went to the sacramento reptile show and while i was standing at a table drooling over some lizards i noticed a guy had just bought an argus monitor from reptile depot. it was the very end of the conversation that i caught and the guy was just asking a couple last questions about the argus. one was what substrate to keep it on. the guy at reptile depot said to keep it on what was in the deli cup (looked like aspen or some sort of other wood shaving) and the guy said ok.

now, me being the monitor freak that i am wanted to take the guy to the side and explain the monitor needed a suitable dirt substrate to keep it on, give him a couple good websites too look over, possibly even my email if he wanted to contact me with questions, and tell him a couple other things about argus's that the guy at reptile depot probably wouldn't have told him (knowing he told the guy to keep it on wood shavings) like proper cage size, adult size, and other things that might possibly cancel a purchase.

another question was how often to feed rodents. the guy said about every 2 days which is correct, BUT he didnt tell him that a varied diet with snails, various, insects, worms, crustaecans, etc. would have been better. i wanted to also tell this new buyer that.

anyways, what do you guys do when you see a situation like that? with any herp, anywhere?

knowing that im a 13 y.o. kid that doesnt get much respect from adults i didnt say anything but i wanted too and i think i should have atleast tried.

    anyways, thanks for listening.:)

Marshall, to tell you the truth i have told people the correct info about a animal they just purchased in front of the seller at reptile shows.I was giving some very dirty looks,i think you being a young kid they would have ignored you even though you seem to know the proper info needed.Sometimes its just a waste of your breath trying to help certain people.Did you pickup anything new at the show?
