    Custom Cage Setup
    Hey everyone,

I'm new to this and to any kind of forum and I think I'm already getting addicted to it, so You'll see a lot of me and my Ball Python in the future. I just wanted to start by sharing a picture of my snake's custom-made (by me) setup. I am very proud of the it and my Ball Python loves it. I just wanted to know what did you guys thought of it. Thanks.

You can see her/him (I don't know yet) at the lower left side in the hidding box.

Hi. It looks really nice but have a few questions
Do you have an accurite digital therm humidity gadget in there? Those dials and strips are not going to give you an accurate read of temp or humidity!
Do you have a warm side and cool side with a warm hide and cool hide? They need both!
I am a new bp owner myself, have had my Zeke for just over a month. I have followed all of the advice here on husbandry and all and Zeke is doing Great! I have a BIG PIGGY on my hands where feeding is concerned and because I have my temps and humidity right Zeke had a great shed. Thought he had shed in one piece but 4 days later realized he had shed over the bridge of his nose. Put him in a water bowl for ten minutes with warm water and he came out of the bowl straight to scraping it off!!!!!
If you have any questions or concerns you are definitely in the right place! The people here are GREAT!!!

I'm new to the forum, but I've had my python for more than two years now. I appreciate all the advices from Zekesmom, but both dial and strip in the cage are really for backup purposes only. I live in Puerto Rico and most of the time, due to the tropical nature of the island, we have the perfect temperature and humidity that Ball Pythons need. I still monitor it's hiding box with internal gauges (inside the box itself). At night I turn on a Red (nocturnal) light to make the hiding box warmer. Up to now she's been eating a rat weekly and sheeding every two or three months.

I forgot to mention that the lower large plate has natural reptile sand. She uses this area to hide as well and being the sand cooler than the box, she loves it.

I currently don't have more snakes. I had a Garter Snake once, but she died about a year ago.

    My Ball Python is 4 feet long... :D The cage is 30" wide x 2' deep x 18" height (7.5 sq.ft.), bigger than most 30 gallons aquariums (4 sq.ft.).

Hi did not mean any disrespect  I am a total freak on details when it comes to the care of pets and freak if someone is not talking care of them the way they should be! My hubby said my mouth would over load my #$@ one day :P
Gosh Puerto Rico! You definitely have no temp or humidity concerns there!
I am in Tucson AZ and am definitely going to have humidity probs this winter. I have been reading up on ways to raise and keep your humidity up. Any good ideas?
