    Sexing rats
Is it possible to sex rats like a day or so after they are born? I'm going to need to freeze the babies very young because my snakes are still small. But I want to keep more females then males for the next breeding. Can you tell the difference at this age?

LOL that is odd Emilio! It is a great site though I use it a lot, one of my definite favorites! Actually most of my favorites folder for my rat colony comes from pet/show rat breeders but they have some great information there I can translate into use with my breeder/feeder colony.

males have their two "holes" farther apart while females have them closer.

it's much easier to sex them when they are older.

and on the page jo gave you: http://www.ratz.co.uk/sexingrats.html

you can see that the boys have testicles from birth, while the girls have nipples and no testies.
