He's loosing his Scales...Why?
In different parts of his body , my Ball Python has Scales coming off not shedding.
Can anyone tell me why this is or what am I doing wrong.
Re: He's loosing his Scales...Why?
If his scales are coming off and exposing his white skin underneath, this is evidence of a pretty big problem - PLEASE get to a vet right away!

Can you take a picture of what it looks like?

Ok we need some more info here before we might give you a possible explaination. How long have you had this snake? What are his living conditions? Like temps and humidity? If this is a newly accuired(spelling) snake it might just have mites and they are causing him to have a very bad scale problem. When you handle him do you see any bugs on your hands or on him? If not then it might be his humidity is to low and its causing his skin to dry out and flake off instead of the normal shedding.
Re: He's loosing his Scales...Why?...Just Found Mites!

get a good mite spray that can be put on the animal and douse him and his cage with it.
