It's a sort of unspoken rule: one cage, one reptile. Beardies can be kept with other beardies, and leos with other leos, but not mixed together.

It's kinda like housing snakes together... there are just too many risks involved. What if one attacks the other, or they both get sick? Which one got sick first? Or if only one gets sick---runny stool or something---how are you going to be able to tell.

Plus, the requirements for a leo and a beardie are completely different. A leo can typically go without a UVB lamp while a beardie REQUIRES one. Their basking temps are different, as are their ambient temps. They don't come from the same parts of the world and therefore require different set-ups.

Why do you need to house anything with your beardie? They do great by themselves. But if you must, then maybe consider a second beardie....but ONLY if you can provide big enough housing for them. They would each need enough space to carve out their own "territory" and not have to compete for it...otherwise, they may fight.

Beardies and leos have different husbandry needs, for one thing. And for another, I know my beardie will chase and try to eat virtually anything that moves (and some stuff that doesn't...like his salad..LOL). I wouldn't dream of putting another animal in there with him, especially a smaller one.

Actually, you CAN do it if you want, just be prepared for the beardie eating the leo. Kind of an expensive meal if you ask me.

    Nothing

Leopard Geckos need different requirements and you are risking the same as you are with snakes.

I agree with everyting said already. Beardies are from Australia and Leos are from the Middle east ie.....Pakistan, Iran, India, Afghanistan etc.....

Its just common sense that you dont do something like that.

Home animals live in harmony no matter where they are from. And some people use "common sense" to relize there is no need to post when the questions have already been anwsered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
