    Substrate question
I'm looking to adopt a Cornsnake and a Kenyan Sand Boa from a reptile rescue. I told him I use T-rex brand "Desert Snow" for my BP. And that I would use Aspen Bed or Coconut Bark for the Cornsnake. Calci-Sand for the KSB. Isn't Calci-Sand, not really sand? Here was his reply...

"My only concern is what you use for substrate. All of those can cause impaction which can be fatal to reptiles. I would recommend CareFresh as a substrate for all. I even have the Kenyan in CareFresh."

Is he the idiot or am I?

    Somebody will answer, don't worry.

I would have, but my thoughts on various substrates are somewhat vague because I've only worked with either coconut husks or newspaper.

That said, I'll say that I don't think there's anything wrong with putting any/all of those animals on carefresh...but there's also nothing wrong with aspen or whatnot. As for the KSB on calci-sand...that, I have no idea about.
