    Sperm Plugs question
Ok heres the deal I have a big ball my first. They sold it to me as a male. How ever due to body size and all I'm am thinking I may have miss named it. How do you pop sperm plugs on a male to see. I have never had him probed so I don't really know if it a guy or a girl. One of you breeder jump in here and help me out.

Myself i have never heard of someone poppin for sperm plugs  .The only way to be 100% sure on the sex is to have it probed by someone who KNOWS what they are doing. Some people are able to pop balls at any age, most adult balls are to strong in that area.If sex does matter for the breeding purpose take it to a experianced vet.If not for breeding purposes the naming does not matter then;) .

LOL! I've had my bp probed twice and I'm still not 100% sure she's a she. I do agree that usually that is the case. (sorry I'm just whiney today. ;) )

The first probe done when I first got her (@ 165g) by an ARAV listed vet, and the local president of the herp society. The second probed was done by a local guy who breeds redtails and keeps other various snakes (@1500g). He was 90% sure she's still a female. The only reason I doubt the probes is I found something that looks ALOT like a sperm plug in her cage the other day.

Oh and my whining isn't a once in a lifetime thing :giggle:, but I'll try and hold off until everyone forgets about today.

Probing must be a fine art or something. I thought I was doing it right.. long story short, my "male" turned out to be a female (remember back when I tried breeding last year, and the one I thought was the male laid the eggs? lol.) This was a mistake by both me and the people who sold her to me; heck, I know they thought she was a male, as NO ONE in their right mind would've sold me a fully grown, breedable and completely healthy female for $30!!! I got Her a few years ago at the Cheektowaga herp show this way.
But long story short, both the sellers, and later me, both probed her as a male.
