Housing for an adult BP

Hello everyone, I havent been here in a while but I have a question to ask you all. My male Ball Python is getting closer to his full size and I am going to have to get him a larger enclosure. Right now he is in a 20gallon long glass vivarium. What would you reccemmond as an enclosure for a full size mal ball python? I don't want to go with the sterlite tubs as he is my only reptile and i want to keep him in a pretty enclosure so everyone can see him :)

I was looking at the Animal Plastics from http://www.animalplastics.com/ but I don't know which size would be big enough for him. Would you reccemmond a T3 or T5?

a T3 would do fine for an adult male bp.

should I choose the sliding or swing doors, or is it just personal preference? what about choosing acrylic sliding doors?

also, should I heat it? Right now i am using a small UTH. Will I have to start using flexwatt or anything different, or can I ge ta larger UTH.

How many gallon would the T3 be, incase I want to get it from a petstore instead of ordering it online?

i like glass doors, acrylic will get scratched up over time. sliding or swing is personal preference, sometimes the sliding doors will limit your access to cage. moving a big hide or water bowl in/out might be a pain, depending on how big the doors are.


AP installs heat in their cages also

i'm not sure they resell at local pet stores?

You can't get an animal plastic cage from a pet store.

well i meant what size would you compare it to? because i might go with a brand from a petstore instead of getting the AP cage

Honestly, I'm not sure I've ever seen anything in the petstores that would compare to an AP cage. In the petstore, your only option would be a glass tank...which, while workable, can be a huge pain in the booty, especially a big one.

also, are there any other enclosures I could order, other than racks and sterlite tubs?

None, aquariums, especially big ones are hard as heck to clean, maintain temps and humidity.

I would check www.boaphile.com if you are looking to get somethhing cheaper.

the boaphile cages are nice, they seem to have every size available too
