    Acu-Rite vs. Springfield
I was checking on thermometers today, and I noticed that Home Depot carries a Springfield indoor/outdoor therm with humidity for about $17.99, and the Acu-Rite usually comes in over $20. Has anyone used the Springfield that might be able to tell me how it compares?

    Thanks!

$20 for the Acu-Rite? Did you try Wal-Mart? They are about $12 there.

I saw an acurite at Fred Meyer for $12.99, but it was just a thermometer without the humidity guage. I've seen the humidity (model 00891) at some online places for $12.99, but most of the time it's listed at $24.95+.

I find my Acu-rites at WalMart for anywhere between $10-$12. Indoor/Outdoor/Humidty.

Well, it looks like I'll be taking a trip to Wal-Mart. Thanks!

They should be in the hardware section near the light bulbs.

Thanks. I also noticed that the nearest Lowes has them as well for around $12.97. Not a bad deal. Perhaps I'll take a drive this afternoon . . .

Yup Lowes and Wal-Mart were the cheapest place for them, I searched around recently for them and those were the two best.

Here's the frustrating thing: I have to run up to an appointment this afternoon, with no Wal-Mart on the way. There is a Lowes right on the way, but according to the web site it's the only one in the region that doesn't have the stupid thing in stock.

I'd phone and check on that, online stock info isn't always all that current or correct. Oh and don't forget that AAA battery! :)
