We just got a baby red tail boa! She is only about 16 inches long, she is absolutely tiny, but she is really sweet!

You might ask a mod to move this to the boa general section ;)

we just got a baby red tail yesterday!! she is only like 16" long, shes pretty small - but appears very active and very healthy. she is captive bred from a breeder in my area!!

anyone offer some guidelines? I have her all set up with her tank and everything, just any extra bits to make things easier for both of us :p

I can't answer questions about caging and growth....but I can offer some advice about the cats. You should always take steps to make sure the cats and the snake are never ever out in the same room at the same time. If you want to take the snake out, first lock the cats up securely in another room...then wash your hands really well! LOL And always make sure the snake's enclosure can not be knocked over or gotten into by curious cats....your best bet would be to keep it in a totally separate room with a closed door between it and the cats at all times.
