Humidity Issue

Hi guys,
Umm, i have a 10 gallon tank for my bp with a screen lid. I have had a humidity problem with my tank. I have an uth and a 100 watt basking bulb on the left side, and nothing on the right. The temps stand at about 92-95 on the warm end and about 86 or so on the cool. I frequently mist my tank, but my humidity stays at about 44-48%. I have had my snake for a little over 2 weeks. He's in the middle of a shed right now, and i am quite concerned. Is there anything I can do to keep the humidity in the tank? Also, could the low humidity have harmed my snake in the two weeks i've had him?

no, having it in the 44-48 range shouldn't have harmed him at all.

what i would do is cover almost all of the screen top with auminum foil and put the water bowl over the UTH. the humidity should improve significantly.

Try checking out this link. I think it can help you out. I personally don't use a glass tank, but many here do with success. Try doing a search for glass tank humidity and that should be able to help you out.

Also, from what I have read on other posts with similar situations, your basking bulb may contribute to the low humidity. Ideally the UTH should provide enough warmth for the warm side of your enclosure, but please, someone correct me if i'm wrong.
