how big of a mouse can these things handle?
I have ben reading on here and around other sites that you should not feed a snake anything that is much bigger than the snake is(diameter wise) and everywhere I see people feeding RTB in the 20 inch range full grown mice. This snake does not look anywhere near big enough to eat a full grown. Can these just handle more or is mine just small? I will post pics later

I feed my little guy in the 2' range 1-2 weaned RATS every week!! Not very easy to overfeed a baby boa.

Heres a pic that shows his size pretty well. I wouldn't think a single adult mouse would be too big for him at all. I perfer to feed a rat about the girth of him, a bit bigger is a good size meal.
Heres an older pic of him with a fuzzy rat, You can kind of see the rat size VS. Girth. That was a nice meal for him and the next week he ate 2 of those

BCI red tails (colombians) do all right with large meals, but you do not want to give a very young BCC (surinam, guyana or peruvian) big meals. They are quite prone to regurgitation, and it can become a habit that will waste away the snake. Once they are well started it is amazing what they can get down though.

Quite right, April! She was a great help when I had a couple regurges from Wrigley when he was a wee widdle tyke.....

He could handle adult mice just fine...in fact I ran out of fuzzy rat pups and fed Apollo, Pinky T and Petey all adult mice just fine....but when he was younger, I had tried to feed him two smaller rat pups than I had the week before. He didn't like two and regurged. After recovery he was okay, but then about 2.5 months later there was a housing problem, and even tho it had been over 48 hours, I tried to lift him up and he regurged later that night. After that, I gave him 3-4 days before handling after feeding and now that he's a LOT bigger, we haven't had ANY problems. He's up to rats that are about 3 mo. old or so (bigger than "smalls" but not as lg. as "mediums").

The babies are all eating lg fuzzies w/o any problems.
