Amazon Dad and the Red tailed boa
My Dad in his semi-retirement goes to mission stations around the world to photograph and video them and then makes promotional material for the mission organization - anyway, he loves it and loves traveling.

And as it turns out, must be where I get my crazy love for snakies from him...

This is a recent picture of him holding what I'm guessing is a BCI (any thoughts on that? He's in Brazil, on the Amazon - don't ask me where, I know that's not exactly pinpointing it). Dad said that this small village, which actually was built entirely of boats and floating platforms tied to trees in the middle of the Amazon river, had it's own little zoo, including this lovely snakey boy. He, of course, had to hold him. =)

What an awesome picture! Your dad looks like a great man!!!

I'm no boa expert, but I would confidently guess that to be a BCI.

It looks like a BCC to me. I was able to count about 13 saddles on it(not all of them though) and I doubt that it has more than 21 like a BCI. My BCC only has 15 saddles, whereas my BCI has 23 saddles.

Hehe, well whichever type he is, certainly looks pretty and heathly! I'm guessing he's more than happy to help keep the rat population down on the floating village, hehe...=)

Yeah, I told him that! He said the boa in the zoo was the only snake they saw the entire trip...

Oh but he did say he got to see and feed a...um...panther? Leopard? Something...it was at the little zoo at the hotel they stayed at. I can't remember what he said it was...shoot, he needs to send me photos of that...
