stressed out snake?

I've been reading all the posts about snakes being stressed out, and that it's a bad idea to handle them for more then a couple minutes at a time, or that they get stressed during a shed, and just all sorts of stuff. I've only had my snake for a few weeks now, and she's been behaving wonderfully apparently, she's been eating, very easy to handle (even with others), and she just shed a few days back. Admittedly I did have to do the "wet towel" idea to help her remove a few unshed pieces, but i've already fixed the humidity issues. Are people just a little over worried about their snakes, or does it just vary on each individual snake and i've gotten lucky? haha thanks for reading and in advance for any thoughts.

I believe it depends on the snake. I know my guy is stiff as a board when I handle him. When I have him out and not holding him, he is fine and likes to roam around.

Well that's what I was hoping to hear, because I didn't know if mine was just wierd or what.

I used to have 3 that I bought as CH and they were the most outgoing snakes that I ever had. Never struck at me or anyone esle. Always eatting upon presentation. Would just hang out on my wrist for hours. But my friend had one that was so finicky and if you held it, it would just be balled up, it wouldnt eat if you messed with it. I guess they are just like humans in some aspects with regards to personality.

my bp is pretty chill. when i hold him, he's always goin up my arm and on my head or somethin. but i still try holding him for only minutes at a time. he eats like a champ still. his first shed was pretty bad, but im tryin to fix the humidity issue. other than taht he's awesome.

[I]Yea, I've only had my BP for a few weeks, and shes very outgoing too.. Only when I handle her its for more then a few minutes.. Usually about an hour at a time a few times a day. If she didnt like it then I wouldent, but when I go near the cadge she comes out of her hide box and trys to get to me, and shes eating fine.. So yea, I'd say it's just based on the snake on weater you get luckey or not.

I have had mine for about 3 months now. Whenever I am handling him & I go to put him on a flat surface, he will cling onto me for life !

Had no problems with mine - she's a calm, docile and very handleable individual. She ate on second week, and feeds regularly without missing one. I handle her 3-4 times a week for about an hour a time (even in shed) she doesn't worry. She sometimes is more active and likes to wander around the room, other times she's content to be a "lap python".
