    How long after feeding?
OK, so I've read that you should leave your ball python alone for 1-2 days before handling after he/she eats.

But I've also read that you shouldn't feed your BP in it's tank (so it won't associate the lid being opened with food time)

Is it ok to move him out of his tank to eat and then move him back to his tank afterwards? And if so, How long should I wait to make sure his food has settled. Should I just wait until the mouse has moved a ways down his throat?

Thanks in advance for all responses!!!

I would give him 5 minutes before you move him back to his tank, always making sure to support his entire body in the process.

The association of tank opening with food is a myth. Do whatever works in regards to your snake eating regulary...if he eats regularly in another enclosure then by all means do it. If he eats better in his home enclosure then do that. Whatever you choose is ok. I feed in their enclosures and have yet to be bitten.

Thanks, I thought that seemed weird. (not feeding in his tank)

This will be the first time I feed him under my care. I hope everything goes well!

I have been feeding in a cardboard box... and I want to convert to tank/tub feeding! Only one question.. do I dangle it in front of there hide or should I drop it in there and watch from a distance?

Whatever works, some snakes prefer either method you mentioned its a matter of trial and error and learning what your snake prefers.
