    Ranco thermostat question
I was browsing on MGReptiles.com for a thermostat (I currently have a dimmer but it's annoying because my room temp drops about 4-6 degrees at night  ) and I came across the Ranco thermostats. There are different options:

    1. Raw Ranco, $55
    2. Ranco with Receptacle End, $74
    3. Ranco with Powerstrip, also $74
    4. Dual Ranco setup w/ Powerstrip, $140

My question, however dumb it may sound, is: is the raw Ranco enough? I mean to say, does it include everything you need to control one heat pad? Or do you have to get the one with the receptacle end or whatever? :confuzd:

Strange question, I know :P, but I don't want to order the wrong thing.

You want the Ranco with the powerstrip. The raw ranco has no plug in attached.

    1. Raw Ranco, $55
This is for the DIY type person, it will save you a few bucks if you have the tools and knowledge of simple wiring.

    2. Ranco with Receptacle End, $74
This is mainly used for one cage application or to control one large heating or cooling device, ie oil filled heater.

    3. Ranco with Powerstrip, also $74
This is what you will want if you want several cages with the same type heating element heated to the same temp

    4. Dual Ranco setup w/ Powerstrip, $140
This is a piggyback system where the left thermostat watches the right. If one should fail you will have a secondary tstat watching that can take control. This also can only be used to control one temp not 2..

    Hope this helps:)
