    Moving a Columbian Boa
Just a quick question for everyone.....I recently split with my boyfriend....he was looking after my second baby (my columbian) and I want to bring her home...are there any suggestions on how to move her without upsetting her too much??

    Thanks

Are you talking about moving her within the same town, one house to another another, or from a far and distant land (i.e., another state, etc.)? =)

Put her in a snake bag or pillow case turned inside out. Place the bag into a rubber maid that is appropriate enough that you have room to pad your snake from the sides in case there is any bumping around..make sure you put air holes in the rubber maid.

I am just moving across the city....I'm wondering, because I spend so much time with her, more than any normal person I would think, if she would be more comfortable if I held her....under a shirt or in my lap for the ride....Also, is it the same as with bp's...leave them be for 5-7 days once there in their new home?

Do it safely. Pillow case or snake bag tied. Boas can be a handful and driving with one loose could be dangerous. She'll be fine...

Sorry to be persistent....even if I'm not driving?? I'd hate to confine her to a bag......

That bag will stress her out much less than sitting in your lap for the trip. And its safer in case of an accident.

They are not like a dog, where they want to see everything that's going on. All the movement and vibration will stress her out. The bag is the best and safest solution for all involved. :gj:

    OK....I'd just hate to confine her....she's so active...hardly ever in her hide....I don't know...I guess I just worry too much...thanks :)

Yes, putting her in a bag would be best. Just make sure that whatever you put her in is escape proof; you could hold her on your lap for warmth/security while in the bag too.
When I moved my snakes, I used rubbermaid containers that were secured closed.
